Last week the FBI arrested nine people in a rural Michigan militia calling itself the Hutaree, made up of Christians who believe the apocalypse is at hand. They were charged with planning to kill a police officer and then bomb the funeral cortege in the hope of inciting a general rebellion. According to the New York Times, the Hutaree see the police as foot soldiers of the federal government, which is part of a “New World Order” backed by the Antichrist.
